Dedication
I dedicate this site to my father Francesco Campisciano and mother Teresa Raimonda Bologna that all their life’s struggled to provide for their family. Francesco was born on the 21st December 1921 in Tunis (Tunisia), in 1939 he left Tunis to study at the University of Rome. Upon entry into Italy a clerical mistake changed his name to Campiciano. World War II broke out and was unable to return to Tunisia. Francesco managed the war years, keeping one step ahead of the Germans and out of imposed work camps. He loved to roller skate, this is how he met my mother. Francesco’s parents where Sicilian stock, Grandfathers father was born in Chiusa Sclafani, grandfathers wife Maria in Marsala (Sicily).
Teresa was born in Antibes (France) on the 26th December 1926, her father Virginio Bologna was Italian from Ventimiglia near Genova and wife Maria Germain Roche from France, they lived in Rome.
Francesco migrated to Melbourne (Australia) in 1959. Worked as a draftsman for the Department of Civil Aviation. Completed his studies in mathematics obtaining a professorship, he became a Computer System Analyst and established the first Computer department at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Subsequent to this, largely due to my mothers abilities, they started a business manufacturing ladies clothing (Germain Creations), to the day that they retired due to mothers affliction with Rheumatoid Arthritis that eventually crippled her.
Life was not easy for them.
